Merritt Island, Florida

Wow! Don’t know where to start. We celebrated my dear friends birthday by spending a week here in Gail’s condo.I have always teased that I live on the poor side of Florida on the east coast and now I know I do!!! Gail’s condo felt like walking into home from the moment we arrived. Being the crazy bunch that we are and from past experience, we carried half our kitchen with us but it never left our cars. Absolutely everything, I do mean everything you could possibly need is right there! Every kitchen item was really nice, working condition and I can not imagine any item that was not right there ready to use. From the coffee mugs to the silverware and china, it was so far beyond anything I have ever experienced renting someone else’s home for my vacation. Plush beach towels, lots and lots of really nice bath towels, wash cloths and kitchen towels. The beds were covered in perfectly filled sheets, and beautiful bed covers. All the beds had plenty of pillows and so did the couch in the family room, The condo is right on the beach and with the morning sun behind you, the balcony was probably my favorite place and the furniture on the balcony is fabulous, not your usual plastic stuff but really nice high quality table with five chairs and a wonderful chase lounge with a side table for your things. Living right at Cocoa Beach I am use to lots of traffic and noise but there was nothing like that here at Indian Rocks Beach! It was just an amazing trip for all of us.  We ate out every night and NEVER had a bad meal anywhere. Lulu’s was our favorite but the pub restaurant right across the street was wonderful too. The lobster tails were the best I have ever eaten. The prices were so reasonable everywhere we ate. The beach and pool were beyond words, so relaxing and peaceful. We were lucky enough to have a full moon and every morning two of us were on the balcony by 5 am and watching the moon go down was amazing and something I had never seen in my 61 years. As the moon went out of site it looked exactly like the sun coming up, I was amazed just watching it every morning. I took my friend on this trip to celebrate her 69th birthday and I was praying it would be as wonderful for her as her friendship has been to me for years and I believe it passed the test with flying colors.  It was just a wonderful trip, a wonderful place to call home for a week, I would love to call it home forever, it was truly just that special. Thanks Gail for allowing us to experience a wonderful new place for us and I hope we can return many times in the future.  D.H.
